FabLab Budapest, in cooperation with Distributed Design Market Platform, is offering the opportunity for 5 young, talented designers to make their open-source project idea available worldwide.
In the framework of OPEN CALL 4 IDEAS we accept
applications in the following categories:
Make your city more liveable! You can apply with objects and furniture designed for public spaces, where either the final product itself is made with digital manufacturing or the jig necessary for the production, such as concrete formwork. It is important that you should apply with plans that meet a real community need, and the used material and production technology should meet the requirements for long-term outdoor use.
When designed for CNC milling, the maximum size of each component may not exceed 1000 x 1000 x 18 mm.
We surround ourselves with countless objects every day, but much less objects are accessible to everyone as how we would expect. Considering social diversity, inclusive design aims to create objects that are accessible and usable by as many people as possible, regardless of their age or ability.
Look for a real social problem, and design a digitally manufatured object to resolve it.
Our objects are an integral part of our daily lives. Throughout our lives our object culture changes and evolves with us. We are increasingly conscious of our choice of durable and design pieces. The purpose of this category is to make digitally manufactured products with sustainable materials for our homes. It is also possible to combine production processes and raw materials.
